      Hi Giles,

      Technically I am an invasion ecologist. My research involves looking at where these alien plants are and how they are spreading. So I need to go a lot of searching to find the right areas to undertake my research.

      Invasive alien species are plants, animals, pathogens and other organisms that are non-native (alien) to an ecosystem, and which may cause environmental harm. For example a plant species such as Himalayan balsam brought from India to the UK.
