My teachers played a big role in my decision to be an archaeologist, at school and at university. I wasn’t sure if I was going to do archaeology at university until I talked with my teacher and he encouraged me to pursue it as he knew it was what I really truly wanted to do.

I was also influenced by watching popular science/archaeology shows that made me realise it was possible to do science and archaeology for a career, programmes like Time Team. Dr Alice Roberts is someone that currently is very inspiring and makes me think a lot about how I talk about my research.
