Question: Hello !
I choose the subject of the effect of climate change on plants biodiversity for my scientific article and I can't find any experiment on it.
Do you have any suggestions ?
Okay, this is quite a tough one to think about! Might I suggest that you maybe think about it as a long term concept? Climate change is something that takes place over a long period after all, it is not sudden [despite what the film The Day After Tomorrow says! ;)].
You could therefore look at something from a long time ago and see how things changed over a grand time scale – the Ice Age (Pleistocene Epoch) perhaps? That is a clear example of climate change that we know had an affect on plant biodiversity globally. It’s not ‘an experiment’ in the sense of scientists doing a test in a lab, but it is something that people have created hypotheses about, found samples for, and tested their ideas on, to create a theory.
These links might give you a starting point. They all outline studies that have been done into the impact of the Ice Age on plant biodiversity.
I found these articles online which they explain scientific research in slightly easier ways (all based on scientific experiments). They could potentially be useful:
