      Hi Eden,

      Plants that are brought by humans to other countries (for eg bringing American plants to the UK) are called alien or non-native plants.

      One of the plants I study is called Himalayan balsam. It is from the Himalayas in India and was brought over in the 1800s as an ornament. It did so well in people’s gardens that it escaped and spread across the country.
